Persona Play

Persona play is one of the quickest, easiest and funniest ways that we know to connect more strongly with the essence of who we are. By using it as a technique, we shift quickly out of serious and stuck issues into more ease and flow. We were first introduced to persona play through trainings at the Hendricks Institute and writings of Drs. Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks.

A persona, "mask" in Latin, is a mask we use to cover and protect our true essence, usually picked up at an early age for survival purposes. What most people don't realize is that experiencing life through personas, even positive ones that get us positive strokes, ultimately leaves us unsatisfied.

Interestingly, what we want -- to find our true essence -- emerges as personas lose their grip on us. Our essence peeks through our masks... as we understand, play with and exaggerate our personas. Plus, playing with personas allows us to poke fun at the serious issues in our lives... and amazing shifts happen.

Big learning with serious issues and outrageous fun... all at the same time! Who would have imagined!
